Wiki/Blog/Google Sites Wrap up

As you reflect on this session about wikis, blogs and Google sites, think about your current teaching assignment and your planned curriculum.
  • How might one of these tools be used with your students?
  • Which tools might be the best tool for your instructional purpose?
  • Tell why you might choose one particular tool over another.
Please post your response. Thanks!

  1. Thanks Deb,
Your sessions really gave me some great ideas. I understand a lot more about the differences between a WIKI and a BLOG. I also like to collect websites that I can use for my class. Thanks again!

  2. Thanks so much for ALL the information you have shared. I know have a much better understanding of the difference between wikis and blogs. That is awesome since it was very a very gray area before. I gleaned much info about google docs. I still an unsure of how to get to the final product. I would like to start with a blank web page and go from there. The info was great and I already have a spreadsheet ready for one class! Thanks!

  5. I really liked the Google forms information! I think that will be a great tool to use in my classroom in the future!!! Allowing us time to play around with each tool you showed us helped me understand them a lot better, though I would appreciate being shown how to make a new page for each tool from scratch so I knew how to make my own later.

Thank you for all of the information!

  6. I will use the Google calendar and Google Docs. I also learned the difference between Wiki and Google Docs and Blogs. I have a G-mail account so I have used the google "stuff" before and it is very useful.

  7. I learned the difference between a wiki and a blog. I thought I knew what a blog was but had no idea what a wiki was. Great presentations!!

  10. Great ideas!! More applicable for the classroom that any technology classes that I have taken. I will try to set up a wiki rather than a blog because I think they are more interactive with students. However, I may find a way to use a blog as well.

I also would like to try to use the google docs for English class. This year I vow to use the forms for summative evaluation.

One of the best in-service sessions todate!
